Enthusiasm goes to Scotland

enthusiasm_v1

Back in November 2016 I was commissioned by Artist, Stefhan Caddick and Dr. Victoria Donovan to write, record and perform a re-scoring of Dziga Vertov’s 1931 film Enthusiasm: Symphony of the Donbass, as part of their soviet arts and history event, Enthusiasm.

Enthusiasm is now going to Scotland. On the 2nd of May I will be joining Stefhan and Victoria at the University of St. Andrews in Fife as part of the Byre World Event. I’ll be presenting clips of the film and new soundtrack alongside a discussion of the compositional process.

Entrance is free and details are here:

On the 4th of May we head to Edinburgh where I will be screening a 40 minute extract of the film with new soundtrack at The Dashkova Centre in The University of Edinburgh. Details of the event are available here: https://www.ed.ac.uk/literatures-languages-cultures/dashkova/news-events/events/enthusiasm-film-live-music-hughesovka

For more information on the project see Enthusiasm Re-scoring under the works tab or visit Stefhan’s website here: http://www.stefhancaddick.co.uk/new/enthusiasm/
